Katie White (25 and a registered nurse) and Alex Bulk (24 and a certified public accountant) met during their freshman year at Baker University in psychology class. They became close and dated for five years before Alex decided to pop the question. On her parents boat out on the Lake of the Ozarks, Alex proposed to Katie with their closet friends by their sides, presenting her with a ring he picked out with the help of her grandmother. The couple chose a rustic theme for the wedding, incorporating lots of handmade touches into the decor, like twine wrapped bottles, tree trunk rounds and lace accents, to bring their vision to life. A color palette of ivory, eggplant, orange and Kelly green was chosen as a nod to the fall season and added a cheerful, festive feel to the day.

A lace gown with a hint of shimmer was fitting both of Katie's personal style and the wedding's rustic theme. The mermaid style gown by Allure featured all over lace and delicate beading along the sweetheart neckline.
A bright purple bouquet filled with roses, lisianthuses, stock, orchids and hypericum berries added a pop of bright color to Katie's bridal look.
The bridesmaids donned long chiffon gowns by Bill Levkoff in a dark shade of eggplant. Each girl was able to choose her own dress style to best suit her personal style and shape.
Traditional Dark Gray Groom Suit
Fitting the wedding's rustic theme, the ceremony programs were made using kraft paper and lace-inspired detailing.
With the help of a rustic chalkboard sign, the couple encouraged their family and friends to mix and mingle during the ceremony.
Traditional Advent Lutheran Church Wedding Ceremony
Instead of tossing rice when the newlyweds made their exit from the ceremony, guests enveloped the couple in a shower of bubbles.
Not only did the Lodge at Ironwoods offer the perfect rustic backdrop for the wedding with its vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams and metal chandeliers, it was able to comfortably accommodate all 280 of the couple's guests.
The couple opted for classic rustic centerpieces with bright floral blooms, burlap and lace-wrapped mason jars and wood slices. As a fun touch, the couple used Scrabble tiles for the table numbers.
A photo booth was set up for guests to enjoy throughout the night. Katie's father made a fun polaroid-inspired frame for the booth, customized with the couple's names and their wedding date.
