A Rustic, Whimsical Wedding at Wines of the San Juan in Blanco, New Mexico

Courtney Leaver (22 and a self-employed costumer) and Jack Bishop (27 and a software engineer) wanted to get married amid natural, New Mexico beauty. That’s why they chose the rustic Wines of the San Juan in Blanco, New Mexico, based on photos alone. Their intimate ceremony took place on a patch of green grass underneath a grove of trees with colorful paper lanterns overhead, horses in the surrounding fields and a backdrop of desert mountains. Everything in this wedding had a personal touch, including the wedding party fashions: In fact, Courtney made her tea-length dress herself. She also designed the whimsical, springtime-inspired decor, including lily bouquets (her favorite flowers), colorful paper cranes, napkins, lanterns and a guest book of paper hearts. Even the invitations and wedding cake topper looked like Courtney and Jack. The highlight of the evening? Karaoke. Courtney and Jack carefully selected all the music for their cocktail hour and reception, and they loved watching their 30 guests sing after enjoying the wine bar (it was a vineyard wedding after all).
