A Rustic White Wedding at Trail Creek Ranch in Wilson, Wyoming
Alden Wood (35 and works in video production) and Ike Faust (36 and works in insurance) started their relationship at a Willie Nelson concert. Ike proposed at the bottom of Alden’s favorite backcountry ski run called Ships Prow at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The couple chose Trail Creek Ranch, a working ranch, for their wedding. Alden grew up on a ranch in Sheridan, Wyoming, and it was important to her to get married somewhere that had that old Wyoming ranch feel. Alden and Ike exchanged vows in front of Sleeping Indian Mountain in a meadow with horses. Afterwards, they had their cocktail hour in front of a historic 100-year-old barn while drinking spicy margaritas and a cold whiskey toddies. The tented reception was decorated with aspen trees, string lights and fresh herbs. The couple didn’t have any bold colors at their wedding, but used mostly white decorated with hints of fun color for a light, soft, natural look. “I didn't want it to be too fussy or over-styled,” Alden says. The best part, though, was the delicious menu! Maho Catering served arugula and baby kale salad, grilled Snake River Farms steaks topped with a Chimichurri sauce, sauteed Alaskan sockeye salmon over sweet corn, succotash with chive oil, herb and pecorino polenta cakes, roasted cauliflower with rosemary and charred tomato, eggplant and zucchini caponata with fresh basil. Instead of a big cake, the couple served delicious pies, tarts and cupcakes from Persephone Bakery.
