A Rustic, Yellow Mountain Wedding at Highlands Ranch Mansion in Highlands Ranch, Colorado
Lauren Rubenstrunk and Austin Hodgson chose Highlands Ranch Mansion in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, for its gorgeous natural rock and wood decor and rich history. Wanting to add a pop of bright color to their otherwise rustic day, they used yellow as their main hue and incorporated shades of green and ivory into their wedding palette. The bridesmaids donned casual yellow dresses in whatever style they wanted, while the groomsmen wore gray suits without jackets but with yellow ties for a shabby-chic look. Lauren and Austin exchanged vows on the outdoor terrace with one of the gorgeous rock walls as the backdrop. Not wanting to overpower the natural beauty of the venue, they kept decor to a minimum and just lined the aisle with baby’s breath in mason jars. Yellow and ivory floral arrangements of roses and hydrangeas decorated the reception tables afterward, as did wood-filled glass vase centerpieces. At the end of the night, the couple enjoyed a three-tier white fondant wedding cake with the top two layers decorated with ruffles and the center layer adorned with yellow polka dots.
