A Shabby-Chic Country Wedding at A Fair Barn in Salem, Illinois

Even though Beth Buckley (27 and a teacher) and Dalton Hilmes (26 and a farmer) grew up in the same town and went to the same school, they never spoke to each other when they were young. Fast-forward many years later: the two of them are both still living in town and Beth's coworker is convinced that her friend from church (Dalton) and Beth would be perfect for each other. "She set us up, and as they say, the rest is history," Beth says. When it came time to plan their wedding, Beth and Dalton chose A Fair Barn in Salem, Illinois. The couple were wed in a sweet ceremony inside the barn before meeting their guests in the nearby pavilion for a night of dinner and dancing.  They brought their shabby-chic vision to life with a color scheme of coral and mint, and strictly no  burlap or mason jars. "I told the planner no burlap," Beth says. "I wanted everything to look simple and romantic. I really love combining elegant and rustic details, but I wanted to avoid mason jar and burlap overload. I wanted our wedding to be unique to us." —Meghan Overdeep
