A Shabby-Chic Vintage Wedding at River Market Event Place in Kansas City, Missouri
Amanda and Ben Myers met in college, and for a year Ben tried to woo her. Luckily, she relented, fell for him and he proposed with a vintage-inspired round-cut diamond ring. For their wedding, the couple decided to get married at River Market Event Place in Kansas City, Missouri, because of its shabby-chic feel. They loved the glass garage door walls, concrete floors and high ceilings. Amanda and Ben said they wanted their day to feel casual and joyful as they were surrounded by the people they love most. The pair used a simple blush and ivory color palette with wood and chalkboard details. Wanting to add some garden-inspired details, they hung a giant tree branch from the ceiling along with white paper lanterns. Instead of traditional paper programs, the couple displayed a dark wooden chalkboard with the itinerary. After their romantic ceremony, they had a classic reception full of vintage details like oil lamps, beads and tulle. The adventurous couple also used a wooden-looking world map poster as their guest book. At the end of the night, they enjoyed a one-tier swirled buttercream cake and danced into the night -- which was complete with a dance-off!
