A Shabby-Chic Wedding at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

Kristin Geesey (27 and works in outside sales) and Jeb Geesey (29 and a firefighter) let their stunning, colorful flowers inspire their entire wedding. Gayla Harvey at Tiger Lily Weddings created all the floral arrangements with poppies, sweet pies and wildflowers in shades of pink, purple, peach and ivory. They gorgeously brought the outside in and added a pop of romance to the waterfront venue. Kristin and Jeb chose Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, for their garden-inspired wedding because they’re both from Florida and love the beach. “We fell in love with the relaxed, outdoor style of this venue,” Kristin says. Although they had originally planned to be on the beach, rain on the morning of their wedding changed all their plans. “The option we ended up with at the venue was more beautiful than I could have imagined,” Kristin says about the switch. Their indoor ceremony took place in front of oversize windows and ended with an upbeat dance party complete with a fog machine from their awesome DJ. We absolutely love Kristin’s Martina Liana sheath wedding dress with a tiered lace skirt! She completed her look with royal blue Jimmy Choo shoes, which she adored, as her something blue. It was a total bonus that they matched the different shades of blue bridesmaid dresses. There are so many details we love—see them all, beautifully captured by Richard Bell Photography, below.

Kristin and Jeb used a turquoise, navy and pink color palette for their modern invitation suite. They loved how the stationery set the tone for their colorful waterfront nuptials.
“My shoes were royal blue Jimmy Choo, which I am in love with,” Kristin says. “The shoes matched well with the Dessy bridesmaid dresses in shades of blue.”

Jeb wore a navy suit from Men’s Wearhouse with a blue tie. He completed his look with a purple, lavender and ivory boutonniere for a pop of color and a look that complemented their location.
Originally Kristin and Jeb thought they would exchange vows outside, but, because it rained the morning of the wedding, they didn’t use the beach at all.

Kristin wore a Martina Lianna wedding dress. She knew she wanted a dress with a low back that was still tasteful. Plus, she adored the tiered lace on the skirt. She completed her look with her mother’s veil.

“We had our wedding at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina,” Kristin says. “We chose this location because we are both from Florida and love the beach. We fell in love with the relaxed outdoor style of this venue.” Wanting to add a little romance to the site, they decorated with string lights.
The reception tables were topped with burlap linens and lace squares for a shabby-chic feel. The bright pink rose and wildflower centerpieces added a pop of color to the room.
The reception tables were numbers with taupe framed chalkboard signs with a burlap inlay to match the reception's rustic shabby-chic look.
Peach, Purple and Pink Wildflower Centerpieces
Kristin and Jeb enjoyed a three-tier white buttercream wedding cake with waves on the bottom, ruffles on the center and dots on top. The top layer was Jeb’s favorite: red velvet. The cake was topped with red, purple and pink flowers to match the location and colorful color palette.
