Between the paper hanging lanterns, DIY tinted mason jars and dried flower details, Jules Sanchez (28 and a Head Start teacher) and Scott Colcord’s (45 and works in management consulting) wedding was an eclectic mix of rustic and refined. The 600-acre Vineyards at Betty’s Creek in Sylva, North Carolina, was the perfect location for their intimate wedding, complete with lots of options for the outdoor ceremony. They exchanged vows under a gorgeous tree, which was decorated with pink and white paper lanterns that seemed to float in the wind. Julie from Pinnacle Events finalized all the details so the couple could focus on their day. We love the stunning yellow and purple dried-flower bridesmaid bouquets and flower crowns that added a little boho flair to the natural setting. “Always Always Flowers helped make what I wanted a reality,” Jules says. “I brought them a picture of what I had in mind, and they made it happen. I cannot thank them enough. Also, because the flowers were already dried, my bridal party got to keep the beautiful arrangements. The same went for the flower crowns: I wanted them to be light and airy, and they were just that.” The clear-tented reception from Mountain Party Rentals was a stunning addition to the site. Jules and Scott hung white paper lanterns inside, which flawlessly continued the whimsical feel throughout the decor. Plus, the clear ceiling added romance for dancing. “After the sun went down, the soft lighting and clear tents allowed guests to dance under the stars. It was such an amazing thing to look up and see the bright stars—you can see only high up in the mountains—through the clear-top tents.” See all our favorite details, beautifully captured by Matthew Druin Photography, below.

The bridesmaids chose their own dresses for the vineyard wedding. Jules asked them to wear something with a funky vintage feel in a shade of blush, taupe or floral. Her favorite look was her maid of honor (her sister), who wore a floral romper from Entourage Clothing Boutique in Athens, Georgia. The ladies completed their look with baby’s breath and eucalyptus leaves and yellow and purple bouquets.
Jules and Scott exchanged vows at the Vineyards at Betty’s Creek in Sylva, North Carolina. Although they toured the site in December, they had faith of how gorgeous the location would be in May. The couple loved having access to the entire 600-acre property, which gave them lots of options. They had their nuptials under a gorgeous tree, which they decorated with pink and white paper lanterns.
Since Jules and Scott opted for a more casual wedding, Scott wore a taupe suit he already owned and that Jules had helped pick out. He loved the lightweight summer suit for their outdoor ceremony in May. He completed his look with a soft-blush button-up without a tie.
Clear Reception Tent From Mountain Party Rentals
Jules and Scott wanted all the decorations to feel effortless and light. The reception tables were topped with slightly tinted mason jars, which the couple did themselves. The jars were filled with tea lights or wildflowers that felt like they blended into the rustic vineyard setting.
Jules and Scott enjoyed a two-tier pink and white cake for dessert. The cake was decorated with ruffles around the bottom of the top layer and the entire bottom layer in a ruffled texture. We love the rustic tree stump and moss cake stand that perfectly matched the rustic-vineyard theme.
