A Classic Black-and-White Wedding at Rockwater Secret Cove in British Columbia, Canada
Tamara and Mike Messeguer wed at the stunning Rockwater Secret Cove in British Columbia, Canada. The ceremony took place along the picturesque coast, and guests moved inside an elegant white tent for the seated dinner. The couple kept their décor simple to highlight the deep ocean blues and lush vegetation of their surroundings. Flower arrangements featured plenty of white flowers—especially orchids and baby's breath—with lush greenery. Tamara took on plenty of DIY projects to bring her vision to life. "My husband built three custom copper signs, my sister did all of the custom hand-lettering for the mussel shell place cards and one very big last-minute DIY was the arbor built over the dance floor," she says. A black-and-white theme showed up in the wedding party's attire—the groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, while the bridesmaids donned formal white gowns. They also carried bouquets of baby's breath that matched Tamara's white orchid-filled bridal bouquet.
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: The couple surprised their families and bridal party with a small legal marriage ceremony at the rehearsal dinner. "This allowed us to enjoy two of our favorite moments from the wedding," they say. "Since we were legally married by a commissioner at the rehearsal, our best man officiated our wedding ceremony which added an incredibly personal touch, bringing all of our guests to tears."
