A Simple and Sweet Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Buffalo, New York

Many couples spend a year planning their wedding. Sarah Schneider (32 and a restaurateur) and Matthew Newton (28 and a carpenter) planned theirs in about a week. "Our wedding style was just 'us,' " Sarah says. "It wasn't a huge affair, but it was beautiful and classic and we're so happy." The ceremony and the party that followed took place at their house, which Matthew built himself. The easygoing couple looked to their beautiful surroundings for inspiration. They used lilacs from Sarah's grandmother's garden and blooms from their bridal veil bush to make the floral arrangements, which they accented with hasta leaves. "We didn't sweat the details, because we were just so excited to be married," Sarah says. —Meghan Overdeep
