A Simple Beach Wedding at the Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor, New Jersey

Jenna Mallonee (30 and in marketing) and Justin Steele (32 and in finance) took the natural surroundings at the Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor, New Jersey, and added clean colors and metallics for a romantic beach essence on their wedding day. "I wanted to keep things low-key and have the beach, bay and natural surroundings be the best backdrop and decor," Jenna says. LeAnna Theresa Photography captured the entire day from the outdoor ceremony at 97th Street Beach to the dance-filled reception. Jenna wore a classic Pronovias strapless, fit-and-flare wedding dress, and her bridesmaids wore mismatched gray dresses. Justin and his groomsmen wore casual J.Crew button-up shirts with blue ties and gray pants. The couple wanted to keep their wedding as true to themselves as possible. "I just wanted people to walk into all the spaces and feel like they were surrounded by us, our taste and style," Jenna says. Even though her family and friends questioned her vision, Jenna knew that keeping the look simple -- while also using wine bottles and sequined table runners as decor elements -- would truly reflect her and Justin's style. The lanterns used for many of the centerpieces were even borrowed from their own home. "We just wanted a setting that felt like our home, and music that is what we would play at our own party," Jenna says. "And we wanted everyone to just relax and have a good time."

Jenna carried a beautiful bouquet full of peonies, ranunculus and roses in pretty blush hues, while her bridesmaids carried white bouquets of ranunculus, chrysanthemums and hydrangeas to pair with their gray dresses.

Jenna wore a classic Pronovias wedding dress in the Alma style. The dress was strapless with a sweetheart neckline and a fit-and-flare shape. Jenna accented it with a Cara New York rhinestone belt from Nordstrom.
Diamond-Encrusted Wedding Rings
Keeping with the simple and casual wedding style, Jenna's bridesmaids wore knee-length, gray LulaKate dresses in various styles with shoes of their choosing. Her two maids of honor stood apart from the group wearing jeweled belts from Anthropologie.
Justin and his groomsmen wore white button-up shirts with gray pants from J.Crew in keeping with the casual wedding style. Justin wore a blue tie from Vineyard Vines; his groomsmen's ties were a lighter shade of blue and from Nordstrom.

Jenna admits that her family and friends did not initially understand her idea of a clean color palette and sequined table runners. "But one of the best feelings was being told over and over again after the wedding that people truly thought our wedding was a reflection of us," Jenna says, "and they could not have imagined it looking any other way."
Jenna and Justin decorated their reception tables with lanterns, small white floral arrangements and warm candlelight. "I was very lucky to be able to use some of my own belongings to decorate the reception," Jenna says. "Many of the lanterns that were used as centerpieces were just accents we had in our home."
Before the wedding, Jenna collected numerous wine bottles and painted them different shades of gold and silver. They were placed on the fireplace mantel and on the cocktail tables at the reception at the Reeds at Shelter Haven.
Jenna and Justin wanted to keep their reception as reflective of themselves as possible. Jenna knew she didn't want to incorporate a lot of flowers into the decor, so she used only small arrangements of white and green hydrangeas for the tables.

For the ceremony and cocktail hour, Jenna paired her classic wedding dress with green Margaret Elizabeth earrings, but for the reception, she opted for white Kate Spade earrings and numerous bangle bracelets.
Instead of a traditional guest book, Jenna and Justin kept with their beach theme and had their guests sign their names and loving words on a custom wooden surfboard that had "Jenna & Justin" down the middle.
