A Simple DIY Wedding at Savoy Ballroom in Springfield, Missouri

Wanting a modern, urban venue that was representative of their personalities, Phoebe Salgado (23 and works in communications) and Richard Salgado (22 and works in psychology) got married at Savoy Ballroom in Springfield, Missouri. “The Savoy was classic, not so country, and allowed for a more traditional atmosphere,” Phoebe says. With only one month to plan their nuptials, they did it all themselves and kept it simple. Pheobe, with the help of her mother, arranged all the florals using hydrangeas and roses, which added a pop of white into the otherwise black and silver palette. One of our favorite details was Phoebe’s lace mermaid-style wedding dress from Ella Weiss. She loved the soft lace, cap sleeves, keyhole back and lots of volume without the ruffles. Another standout detail? The ultra-local smoked pork-butt dinner, which was made by the couple's parents. For dessert, Phoebe and Richard enjoyed a silver and white cake from Sarah Converse Cake Decorator; it was adorned in garden roses with crystals in the center. The other guests enjoyed a DIY s’mores bar. See all our favorite details, beautifully captured by O’Bryan Photography, below.
