A Simple, Intimate Wedding at Castle Farms in Charlevoix, Michigan
Dwayne Aulgur (25 and a carpenter) and Andi Algur (24 and a registered nurse) went to the same high school but were not very close. Shortly after graduating in 2008, Dwayne was deployed to Iraq. While there, Dwayne and Andi became Facebook friends and started to talk almost every day. When Dwayne returned in March 2010, he and Andi took the next step in their relationship and began dating. After only a year and a half, Dwayne was being deployed to Afghanistan. In December 2011, while on a short, week-long break between training and going overseas, Dwayne proposed to Andi. After Dwyane served two tours in the Middle East with the US Army, he and Andi won the Military Heroes Wedding Giveaway contest by Castle Farms in Charlevois, MI. Castle Farms vendors created their wedding day at almost no cost to them. Their ceremony was in the Queen's Courtyard while their reception was in the Queen's Tavern at Castle Farms. The color palette was purple and lime green. The dining tables were decorated with purple table runners and purple and green centerpieces. The entire room was lit with purple and lime green accent lighting. The day after the wedding, Dwayne, Andi and their guests went to Andi's parents' house for a relaxing second reception. After enduring years of distance and uncertainty, Dwayne and Andi were finally able to celebrate their love with all those closest to them.
