Emily Nix (27 and a law student) and Jason Baer (28 and a consultant) met in the same co-ed honor fraternity in college. "We were good friends for a while before we started dating," says Emily. After dating five years, Jason proposed in front of the US Botanic Garden in Washington, DC after a romantic dinner at a nearby restaurant. The pair moved to New York City, where Emily was attending law school and decided to have a rustic wedding surrounded by a beautiful nature-filled setting. The Willowwood Arboretum in Gladstone, New Jersey proved to be the best fit. "We really wanted to have an outdoor wedding and Willowwood was just perfect," Emily says. "It is beautiful and secluded and everywhere you go, you are surrounded by greenery." To accentuate the beautiful scenery, the couple chose a color palette of soft white, cream, peach, light green and pale pink hues.  A few DIY details made by Emily's mother pulled the whole look together -- she made linen table runners and even wire baskets for the favors. "I think the overall feel of the wedding really reflected our personalities," says Emily of the day with family and friends. "It was simple and rustic, but also classic and sophisticated."

Jason wore a charcoal suit with a white shirt and a navy and light blue striped tie from The Black Tux.
A beautiful arrangement of traditional ivory roses, smaller garden roses and blush astilbe whisps filled Emily's bridal bouquet.
"My wedding dress was a strapless fit-and-flare gown with a sweetheart neckline," says Emily. "It was pleated at the top with lace on the skirt portion. I wore simple white satin flats and my mom's cathedral length veil."
Emily's bridesmaids wore matching knee-length navy blue lace dresses with V necklines from J.Crew.
The groomsmen wore light grey suits, white shirts and navy blue striped ties. "We rented the suits from The Black Tux which was very affordable and they looked fantastic," says Emily.

"We had our wedding at the Willowwood Arboretum in Far Hills, NJ," says Emily. "We really wanted to have an outdoor wedding and Willowwood was just perfect. It is beautiful and secluded and everywhere you go you are just surrounded by greenery."
"We used a lot of mason jars to hold flowers and candles," says Emily. At the ceremony, jars were filled with peach roses, blush astilbe and silvery-green dusty miller leaves.
An array of white paper lanterns made up interesting lighting at the top of the pitched reception tent. A good replacement for the typical chandelier.
"The color palette was very soft. The flowers were a mix of white, cream, peach, light green and pale pink," says Emily. "My mom made linen runners for the tables as well as blue and white floral napkins."
