A Simple Outdoor Wedding at the John Joseph Inn in Groton, New York
Christopher Cochran, 25, a financial analyst, and his bride Brittany Cochran, 25, a special education teacher, tied the knot in a beautiful outdoor wedding at the John Joseph Inn in Groton, New York. The college sweethearts searched all over for the perfect wedding location. “The Inn was a classic, gorgeous venue and the gardens that would surround our ceremony site,” the bride says. “The Inn was decorated with pieces from a local designer, Mackenzie Childs — which was my grandmother's favorite — and I fell in love.” The couple didn’t have a set theme for their big day, but wanted everything to be simple, modern and timeless. They stuck with uncomplicated décor such as lanterns and white floral arrangements instead of something big and flashy. “We wanted our wedding to fit in the casual but immaculate venue that we chose,” Brittany says. “Our style was relaxed but elegant.” Following the outdoor ceremony, guests were treated to crab cakes and thai spring rolls at a cocktail hour. Lavender vodka lemonade was the signature drink, and other options such as cucumber gin and tonics were available as well. Dinner and dancing followed at the reception. “We had an amazing time with our families and friends at our wedding,” the bride says. “Everyone came together (from nearby and as far away as Switzerland) to party and celebrate our union because we are lucky enough to have tons of people that love us that much.”
