A Simple, Rustic Mountain Wedding at Azura Cellars and Gallery in Paonia, Colorado

Jenny Bancroft (31 and a paralegal) and Dave DiBerardino (45 and a custom home builder) met at the bank where Jenny worked. Dave proposed in front of the Christmas tree in their home on New Year’s Eve with a three-diamond platinum and gold ring. The couple wanted a simple, intimate, ultra-local wedding. They chose Azura Cellars and Gallery in Paonia, Colorado, because it was close to their home in Crested Butte, Colorado, but at a lower elevation due to Jenny’s father’s health. They loved how the local vineyard looked like little Tuscany complete with mountains in the backdrop. Wanting to support local vendors, they used flowers from Zephyros Farm and Garden, a flower farm up the road from the venue; ate dinner from Fresh and Wyld, a local chef who owns a bed and breakfast in Paonia; listened to Gypsy Jazz Social Club, a jazz band from Crested Butte and drank wine from Azura Cellars. Even dessert—a variety of pies such as cherry peach cobbler and apple pear crisp—were made by a friend of the newlyweds in Crested Butte. With only 50 guests, Jenny and Dave wanted to ensure they spent meaningful, quality time with each guest while they celebrated the beginning of their life together.
