A Sophisticated Country Wedding at Paynefield Farm in Tappahannock, Virginia

A city boy and a country girl, Kelsi Allen (24 and a registered nurse) and Matthew McAndrews (23 and a salesman) met through a friend. Their shared passion for football, dogs and each other led Matthew to move to Virginia from Chicago to be with her. Not long after, he took a confused Kelsi to a Chicago beach in the middle of the winter, with a perfect view of the city skyline, when he asked her to marry him. To reflect their different backgrounds, they planned a country wedding with a city twist tied together by a timeless color scheme of navy, coral and gray. Kelsi brought the city glam with a glittery, formfitting ball gown, while Matthew and his groomsmen looked equally chic in matching gray suits. They were married against the backdrop of two antique doors at the end of an aisle lined with flower-filled mason jars hanging from shepherd's hooks. Although the day was supposed to be filled with downpours, the rains held off and Kelsi and Matthew were graced with plenty of sun. —Meghan Overdeep
