A Sophisticated, Elegant Wedding at Fearrington Village in Pittsboro, North Carolina
Allison O'Connor (28 and in marketing) and David Pontius (29 and in finance) met in college through mutual friends at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill campus and quickly fell in love. The couple relocated to New York years later, where they continued their journey together. On summer weekends, the couple and friends liked to rent a beach house in the Hamptons, taking in the beautiful ocean views. Allison and David particularly enjoy a lookout spot in Montauk that happens to be on the way to their favorite restaurant. One night, David suggested they stop at the spot before dinner. While Allison was busy trying to take a picture for Instagram, David was behind her waiting down on one knee. They wanted to have their wedding in the Chapel Hill area and decided to get married at Fearrington Village, where they could have their elegant setting and take advantage of the venue's different areas for all of their wedding activities. "I envisioned a very simple, sophisticated palette, so we settled on white with gold and silver accents," Allison says. The reception took place in The Barn at Fearrington Village and was decorated with white decor and twinkling lights. Centerpieces were white arrangements of hydrangeas and lisianthuses in silver vases. Allison and David wanted to keep their wedding decor simple and instead focus on enjoying the day with their guests. "It was important to us that our friends and family felt loved and appreciated for being a part of our marriage," Allison says. "We truly wanted a giant celebration."
