The bridesmaids carried lush bouquets of ivory garden roses, lilacs and lily of the valley with green orchids mixed in for a fresh pop of color.
Fanny's bridal bouquet was filled with fragrant flowers like lilacs, peonies, calla lilies and anemones accented with green hydrangea.
Fanny and Brian chose simple modern invitations in ivory with black thermography for their wedding. A black bellyband with the word LOVE held together all of the suite's components.
To highlight the beauty of the Wheatleigh's setting, Fanny and Brian held their ceremony outdoors in the venue's sculpture garden. We kept the décor to a minimum because we felt the garden itself was already so lush and beautiful, says Fanny.
Fanny chose a mix-matched look for her bridesmaids. Each girl wore a formal floor-length gown in their a style of their choice, each in a different shade of green. Brian's groomsmen wore pale gray suits, black bow ties and white tuxedo shirts.
The Italian-inspired architecture of the dining room lent a sophisticated, elegant air to the reception space. A neutral color palette and simple monochromatic floral arrangements added a contemporary touch to the decor.
The couple chose low centerpieces for the reception, each table incorporating flowers found in the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets. It was important to Brian and I that we avoid tall arrangements that might impede conversation, says Fanny.
We chose a band called FreeStyle to play at our wedding. They played top 40, Michael Jackson, and a few 90s boy band favorites, says Brian. We loved how much energy they brought to the party. Dancing raged all night and ended with group sing-alongs. One of the biggest surprises was when Fanny’s uncle jumped in the middle of a circle for a dance number that ended in a split.
A single calla lily boutonniere completed Brian's formal look.
Brian loves tart desserts, so for their wedding cake, the couple chose a vanilla chiffon cake with lemon curd mousse and blueberry compote.
