A Sophisticated Winter Wedding at The State Club in Raleigh, North Carolina
Emily (29) and John (29) started dating a few months after meeting through mutual friends. After a few years of dating, John had all of their close family and friends create individual photos with three words to Emily. "All of their messages were everything from 'Just say yes' and 'Love never fails' to 'He's the one' and he put the videos together with great love songs playing in the background," says Emily. "At the end, he was on one knee and asked me to be his wife!" The pair planned a sophisticated winter affair in their new hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina with a neutral gray and white color palette. "Edenton Street United Methodist has beautiful stained glass windows, a wonderful congregation and the clergy are really kind and welcoming," says Emily. "It proved to be a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony and that was my favorite part of the whole day!" Guests then celebrated during a glowing cocktail reception at The State Club—complete with an interactive social media "I Spy" game. Refined arrangements of dendrobium orchids, baby's breath, hydrangeas along with gold mercury glass candles added lent an elegant air.
