A Southern Spring Wedding at The Mackey House in Savannah, Georgia
Whitney Conn (25 and a banker) and Kelley Andrews (30 and an insurance sales manager) wanted to have their wedding at a venue where guests could easily make the wedding a weekend-long event. They chose The Mackey House in Savannah, Georgia, to host their Southern-inspired wedding. "We were going for Southern elegance with plenty of lace, milk glass, purples and greens," Whitney says. Sara Purdy Photography captured the springtime wedding from the outdoor garden ceremony to the indoor reception. Opting for a classic look, Whitney wore a classic fit and flare lace wedding dress from David's Bridal, matching the lace accents seen throughout the day, while her bridesmaids wore knee-length wisteria dresses matching the Southern spring setting of the wedding. Whitney and her bridesmaids carried vibrant bouquets of tulips, roses, hydrangeas and veronica reflecting wildflowers in the springtime. Keeping with the theme, the couple's caterer, Magnolia Grill Catering, served a Southern-style menu, with shrimp and grits as appetizers, pork as entrees and squash casserole and macaroni and cheese as side dishes. Whitney and Kelley valued their time with close family and friends above all else on their wedding weekend. "The memories that we created that weekend with our loved ones will always be in our hearts, and we are so fortunate to have spent those couple of days with the ones who mean the most to us," Whitney says.
