A Spring Vineyard Wedding at Chateau Morrisette in Floyd, Virginia
Outdoor enthusiasts Courtney Boardman (25 and a dealer sales specialist) and Anthony Muscatello (24 and an account manager) go way back. The pair met in kindergarten, were best friends all through school and started dating in high school. After moving to Charlotte, North Carolina, together after college, Anthony proposed on top of Crowders Mountain, with panoramic vistas as their backdrop.
An outdoor soiree was a no-brainer for the pair, and the Chateau Morrisette Winery in Floyd, Virginia, seemed like the perfect fit. As the couple exchanged vows, guests took in breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the lush landscape. Vineyard-inspired elements were woven throughout, and their close friend presided over the ceremony, offering the day a more personalized, relaxed tone. For the reception, the newlyweds invited their families and friends to join them in Chateau Morrisette for dinner and dancing. Wood floors, exposed beams and an impressive stone fireplace set a warm, relaxed vibe for the evening. “Our concept was to stay simple and let the winery speak for itself,” Courtney says. Tables were topped with lace-trimmed wine bottles filled with fresh bunches of baby’s breath. “One of my favorite parts about our reception was our dessert menu,” Courtney says. “We had cake for the traditional bit, but we also incorporated lots of pies into the mix: apple, rhubarb and key lime—yum! After dinner and dessert, the couple and their guests hit the dance floor, where Music Music and More Music spun all night. —Libby MacCarthy
