A State-Fair-Inspired Wedding at Monterey Country Club in Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania
This wedding was inspired by an actual state fair. Cameron Goodman (30 and an actress) and Keith Carr (33 and a real estate agent) wanted their guests to feel as if they had stepped onto vintage fairgrounds, so they went over-the-top with the details. Everyone in their wedding party wore seersucker dresses or bow ties to bring out that old-fashioned flair during the ceremony. But the reception is where their theme really shined. All 300 guests snacked on hot popcorn, watched a magician or grabbed a "caticature," as the bridal party took pictures with Clarence Chan Photography. Those who wanted a sugar rush also snagged a stick of cotton candy before entering the pointed-tent reception. There, Cameron and Keith pointed guests to their seats with tall flag table numbers inspired by bumper cars. “We wanted our guests to play and have fun all evening—to loose any self-consciousness and just feel happy,” Cameron says. Affirmative Groove, their live band, took care of that and had everyone dancing well into the night. Before their friends and family went home with jelly bean favors, Cameron and Keith had one more surprise in store: a late-night visit from an old-fashioned ice cream truck.
