A Stylish, Intimate Wedding at Montmartre Restaurant in Washington, D.C.

Jeanette Brackett (28, diplomat) was Joey Reardon's (32, artist) boss when the two of them first met at Jeanette's family's restaurant in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They didn't like each other at first, but eventually they grew close, and they maintained their relationship long-distance when Jeanette did her training for the Foreign Service in the Dominican Republic. Joey proposed to Jeanette on stage during a show while they were visiting Las Vegas for Christmas. Jeanette and Joey's wedding was streamlined, simple and stylish in black and white. They were married in the beautiful Holy Rosary Italian Catholic Church in Washington, D.C., where they went to mass while living in the city. Their reception was held at the Montmartre Restaurant. "The restaurant reminded us so much of my family's restaurant and we went there for every special event during the year we lived in D.C.," says Jeanette. Joey was inspired to dress like Humphrey Bogart on his wedding day, so he looked sharp in a black pinstriped suit, white tie and black and white fedora with his wingtip shoes and feather boutonniere. Jeannette looked classic in a lace sheath wedding dress with a Mantilla veil. The bridesmaids looked daring in strapless, tea length wedding dresses with full tulle skirts and carried bouquets of white orchids and gerbera daisies. The long wooden tables at the restaurant were simply decorated with small arrangements of white hydrangeas. As favors and dessert, Joey and Jeanette gave their guests personal sized caramel apple crumb pies to take home.
