A Summer Wedding at Hidden Vineyard Wedding Barn in Berrien Springs, Michigan

It was all about simplicity for Megan and Derek Cole's summer nuptials in Berrien Springs, Michigan. "Neither of us wanted the attention and hoopla that a wedding can bring," Megan says. "We wanted a simple yet beautiful event to celebrate our marriage." For their mid-June affair, the pair booked Hidden Vineyard Wedding Barn—a charming space that boasts a sprawling vineyard and rustic barn. Mason jars filled with arrangements of snapdragons lined the outdoor aisle, while a single chandelier was suspended from a tree to create a ceremony altar, sans arch. "We loved the idea of holding our ceremony and reception in the same space," Megan says. "The venue was the exact setting that we wanted, with its vineyard backdrop and beautiful, open porch for guests." Neutral linens and burlap runners topped reception tables, along with DIY wooden centerpieces hand-cut, sanded and stained by the father of the groom. Spotted on the menu: Moscow Mules, spiked Arnold Palmers and Michigan-sourced beer and wine. "We chose drinks form local breweries and wineries that our guests could sample and share," Megan says. After the newlyweds shared a sentimental first dance to Adele's "Make You Feel My Love," Megan, Derek and 100 guests crowded into the barn for a celebration fueled by vanilla cake, doughnuts and a late-night espresso bar.  "All the snacks were a hit," Megan says. "The simplicity of the day and the intimate setting were perfect for us as a couple." —Rachel Sylvester
