A Timeless, Elegant Wedding at St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio, Texas
When Anne Chacon (28 and a sales professional) was a child, she cut out pictures of a timeless, Scottish-themed wedding from a magazine and saved them, hoping to have her own wedding just like that someday. When she and Luke Gonzalez (19 and a student) got engaged, she pulled out those pictures and created a theme based on the rich colors, patterns and classic romanticism she envisioned. The day began at the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, where Anne and Luke recited traditional vows—straight out of the BBC version of “Pride and Prejudice”—inside a classic chapel with stunning stained glass windows. Later, the St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, set the scene for their ballroom reception. “I searched for a venue that encapsulated our vision, and nothing could compare with the history and richness of the newly renovated St. Anthony Hotel,” Anne says. The room channeled a feast in a great hall, with long tables decorated with champagne-embroidered floral patterns, hanging chandeliers and gold wall sconces, which created an elegant glow. The goal? Anne and Luke wanted their wedding day to exude a timelessness that their grandchildren will still be able to appreciate. (We think they did just that!) Virginia Ann Photography captured the details of their day, below.
