A Traditional, Elegant Wedding at Stella Plantation in Braithwaite, Louisiana

Taylor Crosby (22 and a medical student) and Jack Blanding (24 and an accountant) fell in love with the outdoor space with its beautiful oak trees at the Stella Plantation in Braithwaite, Louisiana, and used the charming space to create the traditional, elegant wedding of their dreams. Taylor praises Stella Plantation's event planner, Krystle Abalos, for helping her plan the special day. "I would have been incredibly stressed trying to pull the wedding together on my own," she says, "but she made the entire experience an enjoyable one for which I am forever grateful." KB Digital Designs captured the entire outdoor wedding that took place under large white tents. Opting for a romantic, elegant wedding style, Taylor and Jack chose a soft color palette of light pink, purple, cream and some green. The wedding day florist, Bee's Wedding and Event Floral Designs, tied in the day's flowers with the elegant style using blush roses and white hydrangeas for the various floral arrangements. The wedding ceremony featured a wooden arbor with white drapery and lavish rose and hydrangea decor. Reception centerpieces varied throughout the dining tables with some being simple floating candles in glass cylinder vases and others being tall candelabras holding pink roses and candles. With the elegant decor also came many traditional Christian elements that were significant to Taylor and Jack, including the foot washing ceremony symbolizing their servitude to one another. ?For future brides and grooms, they advise to not get caught up in the small details of the wedding but rather to enjoy the moment and remember what the day is truly about. "Just be ready to enjoy your day with your future spouse and to celebrate how far you've come and where you are going," Taylor says.
