A Traditional, Elegant Wedding at the Rockleigh in Rockleigh, New Jersey

For their wedding, Danielle Santomenno (31 and a sales representative) and Chris Lau (30 and works in advertising sales) planned a traditional, fun-filled affair at the Rockleigh in Rockleigh, New Jersey. The moment Danielle and Chris stepped inside the stately venue, they were blown away by its elegant interiors. The stately Georgian manor boasts high ceilings, marble floors, crystal chandeliers and palladium windows that come together to give the space a distinct old-world charm. “We could really picture getting married there, which was the most important part,” Danielle says. The Rockleigh’s refined decor set the tone for Danielle and Chris’s decor. The couple chose a gray, purple and ivory color palette and looked to Yumila’s Floral to create classic arrangements of ivory roses, hydrangeas, wax flowers and gladiolus for each table, displaying them on gilded candelabra bases for romantic, timeless appeal. Cool blue uplighting highlighted the room’s refined features, while infusing the evening with festive ambiance. The reception started with a bang, with Danielle and Chris entering the ballroom under a shower of confetti and the couple chose a nontraditional first-dance song, Bob Marley’s “Is This Love” to get guests in the mood to party. The Rockleigh served an impressive spread of decadent hors d’oeuvres and entrees before guests hit the dance floor, and the band Iconix kept the party going and the guests dancing. A tip from Danielle: “Enjoy the process and stay organized. You’ll have a lot of questions and there will be a lot of people and places that will try to take advantage of you just because it's your wedding. Do your research and don't sweat the small things.”
