A Traditional Formal Wedding at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, North Carolina

Danielle, 25, a Registered Nurse, and Daniel, 24, an engineer, met while on a high school trip through Spain and France in 2005. The two got to know each other quickly and started dating soon after they returned home. They continued dating straight through college and six years later, on an annual "girls trip" to New York City, Daniel tagged along and surprised Danielle by asking her to marry him while taking a horse and carriage ride through Central Park. The couple planned a lavish wedding at the Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, North Carolina, choosing a classic design aesthetic with a few glam touches to bring the venue life. The couple gave the Prestonwood Country Club ball room, which comfortably held all 200 of their guests, the royal treatment, infusing the space with a color palette of ivory, silver and subtle pops of purple that gave the room an elegant, palatial vibe, while tall floral arrangements highlighted the ball room's dramatic high ceilings. Skeleton key details, like key-shaped favors and marriage advice cards, were incorporated into the day, speaking to an overarching "key to my heart theme." And while the décor may have been sophisticated, the day was packed full of fun surprises — like a choreographed dance involving the groom and bridal party and Daniel playing a prank on Danielle during the garter toss ("Daniel pretended to take off the garter and instead pulled out a big pair of granny panties!," says Danielle. "When he went searching for it the second time, he pulled out a black lacy thong. He finally found my "something blue" garter on the third attempt!") that showed off the couple's playful personalities.
