A Traditional, Formal Wedding at the Winfield Inn in Kyle, Texas
Inspired by the colors in the Nigerian flag, Megan Large (30 and a project manager) and Tunde Cole (30 and a product marketing manager) decorated their wedding based on a palette of green with touches of mint, light brown, gold and white. The Winfield Inn, a stately white mansion in Kyle, Texas, surrounded by lush grounds and gardens, set the scene for their elegant wedding day. Their ceremony took place between two live oak trees, aptly named kissing trees, on the grounds. Instead of a classic unity tradition, Megan and Tunde’s families exchanged nested, handmade African baskets to join their family names. Later, the reception followed in the garden ballroom with French empire chandeliers, crystal wall sconces and open walls that allowed a backdrop of the manicured grounds. A standout moment? Megan and Tunde’s first dance to “Love’s Divine” by Seal. Before they even started dating, Tunde performed this song on the piano and sang to Megan, totally winning her over. But in typical Tunde fashion, he added flair to their first dance: The DJ mixed in a salsa beat! Hyde Park Photography captured all the details, below.
