A Traditional Hindu Ceremony Mixed with a Classic Western Wedding in Atlanta, Georgia
Nirali and Ray Koh had a two-part wedding that featured their different cultures. "We wanted to have a day that celebrates not only us as a couple, but the union of our families. Our hope was to illustrate our amazing Indian and Korean cultures, as well as Hindu and Christian traditions," Nirali says. The day started with a Vedic ceremony at the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in the morning. Ray participated in a baraat and entered on a horse, and he wore a white and gold sherwani with detailed stitching. Nirali stunned in a vibrant red lehenga, while her bridesmaids donned lighter pink ensembles. After the Hindu ceremony, the couple and their guests attended a classic Western celebration with an elegant outdoor ceremony at The Swan House. Flowers in earthy tones complemented the lush garden. The reception took place at the Atlanta History Center, where red linens and tall trees mimicked an elegant forest. The DJ played both Bollywood and Hollywood hits, and a tiered wedding cake served as a delicious dessert. Nirali donned a romantic sweetheart ball gown with gold beading, and Ray chose a classic midnight-blue tuxedo with a shawl collar.
