A Traditional Summer Wedding at Goose Creek Gardens and Pavilion in Ashburn, Virginia

Sometimes finding a gorgeous garden venue requires looking no farther than your hometown. An Nguyen (29 and a financial analyst) and Eddie He (28 and a business consultant) were on their way to tour another location when they found Goose Creek Gardens and Pavilion in Ashburn, Virginia. Its more than 20 acres of land adds a sense of privacy to any outdoor wedding, plus stunning natural views, winding pathways and a waterfront setting. "We were drawn to this place because of its exclusiveness and rustic charm,” An says. After an indoor Chinese tea ceremony, Clarence Chan Photography helped An and Eddie take advantage of the scenery with a few photos of them running around the park, nestled within whimsical seating and surrounded by the wedding party in mint dresses and dark suits with matching mint ties. In the meantime, Wild Green Yonder, their florist, lined the wedding arch with cascading greenery. Their second, outdoor ceremony was followed by a tented reception. An made the table numbers and escort cards for a personal touch, as lush arrangements of mauve roses, white hydrangeas and willow tips accented each table. Bunches of baby's breath were even tied to An and Eddie's chairs. One detail we loved was the sake at each table. "We drank this same sake for the first time on the night he proposed to me and decided to get it for the wedding," An says. "We also had little sake cups as wedding favors.” After a personalized first dance and a blindfold game, all finished the night on the dance floor. For future newlyweds, An has one tip: "Make the best out of it. It will be a fantabulous night.”
