A Traditional Wedding at the Queen's Harbour Yacht & Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida
Lauren Maki (25, works in digital marketing) and Jacob (Jake) Pritchard (28, U.S. Navy Pilot) met through a Florida and Georgia tailgate held by mutual friends. However, the two disagree on how they started talking. “Lauren, truthfully accounts that Jake came up to her and began peppering her with genuine get-to-know-ya questions,” she says. “Jake re-wrote history to say that Lauren saw Jake first and decided to coyly position herself next to him.” The couple slowly began to date and grew into a deeper relationship when Lauren visited Jake for a week while he was deployed in Japan. After two years of dating, they became engaged. Jake surprised Lauren by decorating her mother’s dock. “Christmas lights, rose petals, flowing white curtains, and a light romantic rain characterized that day,” says Lauren. She returned home from a day of shopping with her sister to find her boyfriend on the dock, ready to propose. They were wed less than four months later at the Queen's Harbour Yacht & Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida. The couple had a vintage and classic inspired wedding decorated in a black, gold and white color scheme.
