Penn State University alums Ashley Bennett (25 and a community marketing manager) and Alexander Palmer (27 and an account executive) had a wedding that was packed with school spirit. For starters, their venue was Penn State's Beaver Stadium. "Not only did Alex propose right outside the stadium during homecoming weekend, but the stadium holds a special place in our hearts that goes further than just football," Ashley says. The ceremony and reception took place in the stadium's Mount Nittany Club. As a bonus, the venue already matched Ashley and Alex's Penn State-inspired palette of navy and white. Ashley and Alex designed their invitations to look like old-time football tickets with a belly band with the famous Penn State chant, "We Are!" At the ceremony, the couple incorporated football-themed details by featuring cheerleader and football player silhouettes to represent their wedding party in the wedding programs. For a twist on the recessional, they provided their guests with navy and white pom-poms to cheer on the new Mr. and Mrs. Palmer. To match the cheerleading theme, the wedding's Instagram hashtag was #shakeyourpalmpalms, a spin on the couple's last name. At the reception, adorable DIY goalpost centerpieces were made out of PVC pipe on mossy greenery. Table numbers were displayed on cards made from a vintage Penn State football calendar. As wedding favors, Ashley and Alex gave their guests Penn State-themed coasters. And the lucky couple were able to snap a wedding portrait with Penn State football coach James Franklin. Samantha Jay Photography captured all the Penn State details from the day. See more, below.

Ashley carried a bouquet with yellow roses, blue hydrangeas, ivory ranunculus, silver brunia and astilbes.
"I wanted to add a 1950s flair to the wedding that would make it a timeless occasion," Ashley says. "I decided early on that I wanted a ball gown with a Grace Kelly feel to it." She wore an Augusta Jones ball gown with a lace illusion neckline. For the ceremony, she paired her dress with a lace-trim fingertip veil. Ashley bought her bridal wear from Ava Clara Bridal Boutique.
Ashley's bridesmaids wore strapless, floor-length navy dresses with peplum waists and bow sashes. They carried baby's breath bouquets and styled their hair up to complete the look.
Alex wore a gray tuxedo with a striped navy, light blue and gray tie on his wedding day. Some of the wedding portraits were taken in trolleys.

Mount Nittany Club Reception
In keeping with the football theme, centerpieces at the reception were goalposts. Ashley's dad made the goals out of PVC pipe. The goals were displayed in moss to resemble the field, and they were decorated with blue and yellow flowers to add a pop of color.
The table numbers were made out of a vintage Penn State football calendar.
As favors, Ashley and Alex gave their guests coasters with the Penn State mascot on them.
