A Vibrant, Modern Wedding at Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
For their spring wedding, Fernanda Abis and Samuel Prince planned a bright, festive affair with a laid-back vibe. The pair headed to Fernanda’s hometown of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for the celebration, a vibrant city with a thriving art scene and baroque Spanish architecture.
The day started with a traditional Catholic ceremony at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. The ornate architecture provided a dramatic backdrop for the affair, with arrangements of lush white florals in varying sizes, which the couple used to line the aisle and decorate the altar, adding an air of romance and elegance. The couple put a personal twist on the proceedings through music, choosing the song “Through the Eyes of Love” from the film Ice Castles for processional and “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles for the recessional.
The reception was where the couple’s personalities truly shined through. Vibrant color transformed the historic Instituto Allende, the city’s visual art school and Fernanda and Samuel’s venue, from iconic architectural gem into a lively, party-ready scene. Colorful floral centerpieces spanning the length of the tables brought energy and life to the outdoor courtyard and dramatic purple uplighting and twinkling strands of white lights created the ideal atmosphere for dancing. Fernando and Samuel treated guests to a vintage candy bar overflowing with treats like hot chili candies, cupcakes and classic Mexican sweets and an open shot bar that kicked the evening into high gear. A live band filled the air with retro tunes during dinner, until the DJ took over and got guests grooving out on the dance floor.
