A Vibrant Summer Wedding at Foothills Centennial Centre in Okotoks, Canada

Cassi Daverne (28, an HSE Advisor) and Cody Stern (32, an HSE Advisor) held their wedding in their hometown of Okotoks, Alberta. They held a traditional ceremony at the United Church in the city (Cassi fell in love with the hardwood floors and the bright sanctuary) with a reception at the Foothills Centennial Centre. "We got married in August and I had always wanted to have a vibrantly colored, pretty, summery wedding with tons of flowers!" Cassi says. The color palette of aqua blue (one of Cassi's favorite colors) and coral brought out the vibrant vibe of the wedding. Inspired by the aqua blue in the color palette, Cassi hunted down 144 (!) vases from thrift stores and painted them aqua blue. "I took over the garage with all my vases and drove Cody crazy!" Cassi says. Cassie let the florist, Flower Chix, have free reign in filling all the vases, so the centerpiece florals were an amazing mix of roses, hypericum, astilbe, hydrangeas, stock and carnations. To complement the summer season, the groomsmen wore light tan suits with brown shoes and aqua ties (which matched the varied length aqua bridesmaid dresses). Cassi's search for her dress was "an adventure!" After a long search around Calgary lead nowhere, Cassi contacted Casey Jeanne in South Africa to make Cassi a custom, fitted lace mermaid dress with straps. However, Casey Jeanne informed Cassi that she would have to be in person for the dress fittings. "I have a friend who lived in the same city as the designer and I figured I might as well go visit her and her husband, go on safari, and get my dress made. I absolutely loved my dress, and I had a great trip!" Cassi says. Check out more photos by Janine Deanna Photography below!
