Lindsey Brooks (28) and LaeJon Brooks (30) combined romantic attire with a rustic setting and Las Vegas-worthy lighting for a standout wedding at Perona Farms in Andover, New Jersey. It all started with the ceremony. Each bridesmaid walked into the church in a floor-length pink dress with her favorite neckline and pleated skirt. Their pink dahlia and rose bouquets from Brave Blooms only enhanced the soft hue. After the service, Lindsay and LaeJohn’s barn reception switched things up with wooden farm tables, shabby-chic baby’s breath centerpieces and woven baskets. Even their sweetheart table had a wooden-barrel base. Their chandelier captured the bridal party’s elegant look. But the decor didn’t end there. Since the couple wanted to ensure their celebration was the ultimate party, blue and purple uplighting bathed the entire barn. (Now that's a combination we didn't expect!) “I wanted something different and rustic that would really wow guests,” Lindsey says. The photos of their whimsical blush, gray and blue details, shot by Brianna Wilbur Photography, definitely give us the “shock factor.”

By working with Champagne Press through Etsy.com, Lindsey and LaeJon created a custom invitation suite. Highlighting their gray wedding color, each card had a chic border and their names in a charcoal calligraphy. A charcoal olive branch-inspired detail also surrounded their monogram along the bottom.
Each member of their wedding party donned a classic look, and some even had a little personality. The bridesmaids sported floor-length pink dresses from Union Station with their favorite necklines. Different hairstyles and jewelry also set them apart. Their groomsmen, however, suited up in matching light gray Men’s Wearhouse suits, navy ties and white shirts.
Looking to show off her figure with a fitted lace dress, Lindsey picked out a chic Allure gown from Bella Sposa Bridal. Its lace overlay covered every inch of the mermaid-style dress, even extending to its chapel-length train. The classic thick straps and floral detailing also gave it that vintage feel she loves.
Lindsey outfitted her classic wedding day look with a subtle hint of color. Matching LaeJon’s blue custom suit and her pink bridesmaid dresses, she slipped on a pair of peep-toe shoes with a colorful brooch detail. Designed by Badgley Mischka, each point on the accent highlighted a pink or blue hue.
With such intricate lace along her dress, Lindsey soft and simple accessories. Her veil from Bella Sposa Bridal highlighted the all-white look with a matching sheer hue. Delicate beading also lined its trim for a classic touch.
Nothing says classic like an ivory bridal bouquet. The florists at Brave Blooms filled its white ribbon wrap with lush dahlias and roses. Sprigs of dusty miller and seeded eucalyptus added some dimension to the arrangement.
For their traditional Catholic ceremony, Lindsey and LaeJon let their guests and the church itself be the focal point. Light from the setting’s stained glass windows highlighted the couple as they walked passed each pew for the recessional. Guests joined the celebration by snapping photos, offering handshakes and hugs.
Each groomsmen sported a clean and classic look for the traditional celebration. They all wore light gray suits from Men’s Wearhouse, white shirts and matching pocket squares. Navy polka-dot ties and natural boutonnieres with scabiosa pods added some color to the mix.
While LaeJon donned a completely different suit from his groomsmen, he still wanted them to have a few unified accents. Like the other men, he topped his notched lapel suit jacket with a boutonniere from Brave Blooms. Each one had scabiosa pods, white spray roses and seeded eucalyptus wrapped in classic white ribbon.
Like her dress, Lindsey chose a makeup style that was simple and timeless. Gold shadow and black mascara highlighted her blue eyes. A soft pink lip gloss and light rouge took care of the rest, leaving her to look flawless and natural in LaeJon’s arms.
Each bridesmaid matched her Union Station dress with a romantic bouquet in the same pink hues. The couple’s florists from Brave Blooms crafted each one with pink lisianthus, white roses, blush dahlias and blush garden roses. Only a few stems of eucalyptus and dusty miller broke up the color scheme. A white ribbon wrap gathered every stem.
Lindsey knew she wanted her bridesmaids to wear something pink and affordable. They found both through Union Station. A wedding-specialized version of “Rent the Runway,” the online retailer let each woman rent a floor-length chiffon dress with her favorite neckline. For extra personality, they also sported different hairstyles and jewelry.
Before guests walked into a shower of purple uplighting at their reception at Perona Farms in Andover, New Jersey, Lindsey and LaeJon greeted them with a rustic entrance sign. The chalkboard accent enticed friends and family members with their full menu. (In case there were any foodies in the party, the couple also had an Instagram hashtag.)
“I wanted something different and rustic that would really wow guests,” Lindsey says. The uplighting at their barn reception at Perona Farms in Andover, New Jersey, definitely filled her requirements. Purple lighting showered over guests as they walked into the rustic celebration. Wooden farm tables, baby’s breath centerpieces and woven baskets helped enhance the rustic style.
Their table numbers stood out with both classic and natural flair. A hanging black-and-white card marked the seating with white calligraphy. Its matching black string wrapped around a bulb vase with a single white rose.
Each centerpiece from Brave Blooms highlighted their rustic setting with a cloud of white flowers. Pomanders of baby’s breath sat atop tall silver pedestal vases. White rose table numbers and low all-white arrangements highlighted each one. Tealight candles in gold or frosted votives and small bunches of greenery further accented the design.
“Laejon surprised moment,” Lindsey says. “It was ‘The Sweetest Love’ by Robin Thicke. It always had special meaning to us, and the moment I heard it come on was one of the most special and emotional moments of the night for me.” A DJ from SCE Event Group told all their guests about the song’s title before Lindsey and LaeJon took the floor, letting everyone in on the heartfelt moment.
Stationed atop a wooden barrel, the couple picked out a classic white cake to fit the rustic setting. Each layer had an unexpected flavor of coconut or red velvet below thick white buttercream frosting. Pink and blush roses and a "The best is yet to come" accent served as a romantic topper. ( LaeJon is a Frank Sinatra fan.) Their backdrop made the dessert even more personalized. It read: “And then my soul saw you and it kind of went ‘Oh, there you are. I’ve been looking for you.’ ”
Instead of matching the wooden guest tables, Lindsey and LaeJon decorated their sweetheart table with an even more rustic design. A light wooden barrel served as the base below a finished-wood countertop. Its low, blush dahlia centerpiece served as the main accent, letting the wooden seating stand out.
