Ashley Stephens (25 and a hospitality manager) and Jamison Cunningham (24 and an officer in the United States Marine Corps) met in the 6th grade, but started dating during their senior year of high school. Ashley went to study at Cal Poly Pomona while Jamison studied at George Mason University, bringing them into three years of a long distance relationship. After graduation, the couple knew when Jamison was stationed in Okinawa, Japan that long distance was not going to work. So on December 26th, 2012, Ashley and Jamison tied the knot in a courthouse Fullerton, California. After the wedding, the newlyweds began their lives together in Asia, and two years later, decided to have a 'real' wedding. With a mutual love of wine, Falkner Winery was an easy choice for their wedding venue. The couple wanted to keep the color palette clean and beautiful as they were inspired by the vineyard. They kept the colors neutral, other than the navy in the bridesmaid dresses. Their flowers were green and white, with small bits of navy in the bouquets. The ceremony was held in the barrel room, and out into a grassy landing amidst the vines. Bruschetta, meatballs in a white wine garlic sauce, and spanakopita were served as their appetizers for cocktail hour. Then they traveled to a garden connected to the tasting room for dinner that served chicken and hand carved, herb crusted beef roast with garlic parmesan mashed potatoes, veggies, and salad. The dancing portion of the reception was in the restaurant part of the venue that allowed the guests to dance well past the the allotted time for the wedding! "We as a couple love our friends, our family, good food, good drink, and great music. Our wedding was all of those things," says Ashley.

Wedding Rings Atop a Marine Corps Hat
Ashley tried on every dress imaginable before finding her perfect dress in a boutique in Dallas.
"Jamison had a tux, in addition to his dress blues, that he changed into before the reception so he could be more comfortable during the party," says Ashley.

Ashley wanted the groomsmen to be clean and simple, so she preferred dark gray over black for a summer outdoor wedding.

"We'd decided that Jamison would wear his Dress Blues for the ceremony, so I based all fashions on the uniform," says Ashley.
Ashley chose a dark Navy Blue for the bridesmaids to coordinate with Jamison's uniform.
Choosing the venue to be at Falkner Vineyard was a no brainer for Ashley and Jamison, as her family are wine connoisseurs.
Vine and Grape Centerpieces with Votive Candles
Ashley asked her cousin to make a simple, butter cream frosted cake without fondant, and she delivered that as well as some hand crafted flowers flowing down the tiered edges.
Their ceremony was held down through the barrel room, and out into a grassy landing amidst the vines.
"It was a family reunion, it was a friends reunion, and it was also our reunion with our loved ones, as we'd been stationed in Japan for a majority of the planning period," says Ashley.
The couple and their guests danced well past the time allotted for the evening. They ended up having to push people out well over an hour after the time was up.
