A Vintage Fall Wedding at The Hudson Gardens and Event Center in Littleton, Colorado

Everything from the brown and orange color palette to the pumpkin details to the natural fall leaves at Brooklynn Saelens (33 and an audio engineer) and Steve Schaffner’s (34 and an elementary art teacher) wedding screamed fall. Wanting to add a little vintage flair to the autumn ambience, they added pageboy hats and jackets complete with elbow patches to the wedding party’s attire. The Ruffly Rose brought the fall theme, vintage accents and garden venue together with natural floral arrangements. Brooklynn and Steve exchanged vows at The Hudson Gardens and Event Center in an outdoor ceremony and got lucky with gorgeous weather and natural fall foliage. The couple picked over 100 pumpkins for the aisle decor and escort cards and guests even got to take them home at the end of the night as favors. One of the best parts was the eclectic centerpieces Brooklynn spent all summer assembling, and she let guests take them home at the end of the night, too. In lieu of a traditional wedding cake (since neither Brooklynn nor Steve are huge fans), the couple decided to go to a local donut shop, Voodoo Doughnut, and get different types of donuts for dessert. The bakery even made a huge black-and-white donut for the couple to cut and enjoy. “All the fall colors and eclectic feel of the whole room, everything came together beautifully and matched in its own way,” Brooklynn says. “We are huge music lovers, and the band, Groundscore Bluegrass, was what was most important to us, and our guests. We danced the night away, and everyone loved it.”
