A Vintage, Intimate Wedding at Landmark Inn in Marquette, Michigan
This spontaneous, intimate wedding with vintage elements took place in Marquette, Michigan, where Allison Scott (25 and studying elementary education) and Brad Scott (28 and in IT support) said their vows in a place held dear to their hearts: the outdoors. "We came to the park the day before, hiked around and eventually picked our favorite spot," Allison says. "It was on a rocky point that looked out over Lake Superior, and it was perfect because we wanted a smaller, stress-free, intimate party." Allison wore her ivory dress purchased from Fantastic Finds on the day of the wedding, with a netted high neckline accented with lace that looked straight out of the 1920s. She used her grandmother's vintage lace to decorate many details throughout the day, such as the lace incorporated into her baby's breath flower crown and the mason jars wrapped with lace and burlap. During the reception inside Landmark Inn, a naked chocolate wedding cake covered with Belgium dark chocolate buttercream icing, layered with chocolate ganache and topped with fresh fruit satisfied the sweet tooth of every guest. Our favorite detail? The bridal bouquet created by Forsberg Flowers, filled with stock, roses, baby's breath and a single bright yellow sunflower that added a pop of color to the occasion.
