We can’t get enough of the vintage decor—not to mention the personal details—in this aqua, mint and white wedding. “I was inspired by things I loved: vintage items, birdcages, lanterns and my mother's creativity,” Katie Willingham (23 and an elementary teacher) says of her wedding to . Cody Willingham (25 and an engineer technician). On their wedding day, Katie and Cody accented her aunt and uncle’s backyard in Rainsville, Alabama, with hanging arrangements of hydrangeas and Queen Anne’s lace designed by her mother's best friend. Each bridesmaid started the ceremony's procession in a short, aqua dress for an added bright hue as Katie followed in a sweet A-line wedding dress covered with floral embroidery. Once she and Cody exchanged vows, the celebration moved to an outdoor reception. Guests were encouraged to play corn hole accented with cameos or rest for a moment on vintage lounge furniture. When they were ready for dinner, each reception table was met with antique-style books, a monogram “W” for Katie and Cody's last name, vintage dinnerware and clear glass vases filled with pink roses or baby’s breath. Did we mention the wedding cakes? Placed on a mint, vintage dresser, Tina Cakes baked a four-tier ivory confection accented with Katie and Cody’s monogram, roses and a tight ruffled detail. Cody’s groom’s cake even had shotgun shells to represent his love of hunting. Another detail we loved was the wedding favors. All were welcome to fill a bag with cookies or have a seed packet from a vintage flower cart that read “take one and watch love grow” on a chalkboard sign. See all the sweet details from Mandy Owens Photography, below.

Each arrangement in Katie and Cody's wedding was designed by her mother's best friend with a personal touch. For Katie's bouquet, white delphiniums, yellow hypericum berries, pink and white roses, seeded eucalyptus, baby’s breath and mini green hydrangeas from Davis Wholesale Florist were wrapped in burlap as a simple red pendant accented its stems.
Katie's bridesmaids showed their personality in aqua dresses. Playing off the garden-style and vintage decor, each woman wore her chosen dress with rosette, criss-cross, floral or ruffle detail and a silver statement necklace. Matching bouquets tied the looks together with a simple touch as each arrangement of roses and baby's breath was accented with a burlap wrap.
Katie and Cody decorated her aunt and uncle's backyard in Rainsville, Alabama, with two forms of aisle decor. White hydrangeas and seeded eucalyptus hung from blue mason jars along the aisle. Similar clear glass jars were placed beside them with bunches of Queen Anne's lace, pink delphiniums and baby's breath.
Cody waited for Katie during their first look in a gray tuxedo from Merle Norman with a few classic accessories. He wore a white shirt and silver tie with a boutonniere that matched their aisle decor. Designed by a friend of Katie's mother, it was filled with white hydrangeas and baby's breath.
While Katie's bridesmaids picked their own aqua dresses, blooms from Davis Wholesale Florist brought the looks together with a garden-style touch. Katie's mother's best friend designed bouquets of pink, light pink, white and yellow roses, as well as baby’s breath, yellow hypericum, white hydrangeas, eucalyptus, white delphiniums and seeded eucalyptus for each woman as burlap gathered its stems.

Katie and Cody's celebration included a few forms of entertainment. Along with a silhouette-accented game of corn hole with monogrammed "B" and "G" bags, guests were encouraged to take to the dance floor to music from a DJ.

Each centerpiece at Katie and Cody's reception had a personal touch. Vintage cases, drawers and birdcages were met with burlap runners and "W" monograms to represent their last name.

Tina Cakes brought out Katie's love of vintage details with a sweet twist in the couple's cake design. Each ivory tier was met with a tight ruffle, monogram or stucco detail as pink roses and garden roses accented each tier. For a fitting touch, each slice was served on vintage dinnerware.
“Our wedding cakes and tables were decorated to perfectly match our personalities," Katie says. For Cody's groom's cake, Tina Cakes designed a two-tier chocolate and peanut butter cake accented with shotgun shells to represent his love of hunting. Chocolate-covered strawberries and peanut butter cups also topped the confection.
Katie tried on three dresses at Something Blue Shoppe before she found the one, a sweet and classic dress covered in floral embroidery along the A-line organza skirt. Since the dress went beautifully with their vintage and garden-style decor, it needed little embellishment. Katie simply added a fingertip-length veil and beaded belt for just the right touch.
