A Vintage, Industrial Wedding at The Old Cigar Warehouse in Greenville, South Carolina
Catherine Morris and Jeff Lear planned a vintage, romantic wedding at a restored warehouse from the 1800s. Brown brick walls created a soft yet industrial background for the festivities. "I let the space dictate some of the décor," Catherine says. "The grate in the main hall was begging for something underneath it, and the floral arch let me have all of the beautiful flowers I wanted." Flowers in pink and blush tones, as well as plenty of greenery, made up the bulk of the arrangement and also decorated a wood staircase in the venue. Vintage-inspired lounge furniture and elegant draping offset the modern, industrial look of the warehouse. The vintage theme also popped up in Jeff's striped bow tie, Catherine's dusty-rose dress and many of the thoughtful knickknacks placed throughout the space. Since they aren't big dancers, Catherine and Jeff opted against a DJ, and instead had a cellist and guitarist playing throughout the night. A two-tier cake and cupcakes were topped with the succulents as a nod to Jeff's love for the plants.
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: "We donated as many flowers as our cars could carry to a local nursing home, so hopefully they could continue to make other people as happy as they had made us," Catherine says.
