A Vintage Waterfront Wedding at 331 South in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Five years after Anna (Corinne) Mixon (32 and a principal at Mixon & Associates and vice president of Biometric Services Company, Prints Inc.) and Whitney Ginder (32 and a PhD. candidate) met through a mutual friend, the couple became engaged. Corinne searched for months to find the perfect vintage ring and popped the question on ski trip in Breckenridge, Colorado. But hers was not the only proposal. Whitney went on a hunt for a special antique ring and got down on one knee over Labor Day weekend. With the help of their friends and family, the couple spent the next 19 months planning a wedding filled with personal touches. Corinne and Whitney chose 331 South, a waterfront spot near their favorite restaurants, to house the outdoor celebration. “The wedding was rooted in a romantic, vintage aesthetic that sought to highlight the natural beauty of the venue and the timeless vision the couple had for the day,” says Whitney. A rich color palette of Oxford blue, gold, cranberry, bordeaux and blush, were chosen to complement their theme and the fall season. Simple white folding chairs outlined the ceremony space as the couple’s 105 guests watched and took part in their custom ceremony. “The vision for the space was to allow the simplistic beauty of the surroundings and the brides love for one another to be the focus,” says Corinne. Rather than sharing personal or traditional vows, Corinne and Whitney had their officiant and friend, Amity Gay, say a few words about why they love each other before all moved into the outdoor reception and cocktail. Each guest had the option of multiple drinks, including the couple’s French 75 signature cocktail, before finding their handwritten escort card on Corinne and Whitney’s own wine riddling rack. Simple white family-style tables, white folding chairs, string lighting and colorful floral centerpieces as well as both heirloom and purchased oil lamps decorated their reception. A dinner filled with southern cuisine and cupcakes was served as all enjoyed live music from local bands and friends of the couple. Corinne and Whitney spent their night dancing with guests and holding an impromptu karaoke session before riding home with their Maid of Honor’s parents. “It was a non-stop laughing fest,” says Corinne.
