A Watercolor-Inspired Wedding at Cottonwood Country Club in Holladay, Utah
“Our theme was summertime romance and watercolor—we had bright pinks and cream colors throughout our wedding,” says Lindsay Baker (26 and an optometrist), who wed Jonathan Howse (27 and a civil engineer) in an outdoor lakeside ceremony at Cottonwood Country Club in Holladay, Utah. “Flowers were very important to me in creating a romantic feeling throughout the event. Ours were a mix of bright pinks and creams. We integrated berries and textured greenery to add volume and variety,” Lindsay says. “Our goal was to bring elegance and romance to the outdoor setting. One of my favorite places we used the flowers was to accent our gold frame for the background of our ceremony.” This warm gold accent was carried through the reception, where tables for the couple’s 200 guests are set with gold plates and low flower arrangements in gold vases. After a night of choreographed (and freestyle) dancing, the newlyweds exited under the glow of sparklers. "I loved my dress so much that I wore it there entire night, including the departure," Lindsay says. —Carolyn Meers
