A Waterfront Wedding at a Private Residence in Smithfield, Virginia
Tiffany Bryant (24 and an office manager) and Rusty Brake (23 and a logger) were inspired by the setting of their wedding. Their venue, Aberdeen Farm, is a private farm that overlooks the James River in their hometown of Smithfield, Virginia. They chose this venue because Tiffany's late grandfather used to overlook the grounds at the farm. "In a way, I felt like he was still a part of my big day," she says. To reflect the scenery at the farm, Tiffany and Rusty chose a color palette of light blue, taupe and mocha brown. Everything from the ceremony programs with the starfish motif to the three-tier wedding cake with piped accents was in blue and brown. Tiffany carried a bouquet of white and blue lilies and her bridesmaids wore light blue dresses. The candy bar featured only blue and brown sweets, and the white floral centerpieces were arranged in mason jars that were painted light blue and brown. Even the sand for the unity ceremony fit the wedding's color scheme. Tiffany and Rusty were married under a bamboo wedding arch in a waterfront ceremony by the James River. The following reception took place under a tent nearby, and the farm had cabins where guests could crash after a night of celebrating and dancing. Tiffany and Rusty started the dance floor with a first dance to Percy Sledge's "When a Man Loves a Woman," sung by a close friend. Grant & Deb Photographers were there to capture the day!
