"We wanted our theme to be nautical, but not obnoxiously so," Holly Walton (23 and an administrative assistant) says of her wedding to Kenneth Roe (23 and a student). The pair—who survived five years living long distance while Kenny was in the Army—settled on Holly's home state, Maine, for their long-awaited nuptials. Nautical details like the bay vistas, anchor monograms and buoy boutonnieres reflected the setting, but were kept from feeling overpowering by elegant blooms and whimsical pops of color. After an intimate ceremony in field of wildflowers overlooking a river, the couple and their 60 guests hiked back to the estate for a night of dinner (lobster, of course!) and dancing on the lawn. "We really wanted our wedding to be as fun for our guests as it was for us," Holly says. "We focused on enjoying each other's company and a night of celebrating with our friends and family instead of fretting over the details, and we are so glad we did. The night didn't feel rushed or stressed." —Meghan Overdeep
