A Whimsical, Casual Lawn Wedding at the Hodge Podge Lodge in Montgomery, Texas
Bria Cardenas (21, nanny) met Jake Garnier (21, student) in high school through Future Farmers of America: she raised goats, and he raised lambs. They were friends for several years before finally giving in and making their love official. The couple’s beautiful spring wedding took place at Hodge Podge Lodge in historic Montgomery, Texas. Bria and Jake’s wedding style was shabby chic, rustic, and had a color palette of blush, peach, light blue, gray and mossy greens to compliment the natural colors to compliment the outdoor wedding. The couple utilized a lot of DIY decorations: Jake built and stained wooden centerpiece boxed that were filled with hydrangeas, and Bria wrapped dozens of wine bottles in twine that were filled with baby’s breath. They also used a lot of lace and burlap elements in their décor to match the style of the Hodge Podge Lodge. At the cocktail hour, Jake and Bria added a whimsical lemonade bar full of fun flavors on the classic beverage. Jake’s mother baked the eye-catching wedding cakes, including a triple-tier naked chocolate ganache decorated with peach and blush roses. The warm colors, soft diffused sunlight and whimsical details made Bria and Jake's wedding a joyous occasion that was a beautiful reflection of the couple’s style.
