A Whimsical Garden Wedding at a Private Home in Boulder, Colorado
Set in the backyard if the bride’s childhood home, Jessica Von Eschen (27 and co-owner of The Urban Garden) and Eric Beck (35 and co-owner of The Urban Garden) planned a glam garden celebration in just under two months.
Since Jessica and Eric own a local garden center together, a flower- and foliage-filled wedding was an absolute must. After exchanging vows in a Creekside ceremony on the property, the newlyweds celebrated with a tented reception on the lawn. “Leaves kept falling on the roof of the clear tent,” Jessica says. “I couldn’t imagine a more magical place to get married.”
Hundreds of strips of satin fabric in shades of gold, pink and white made for one unforgettable DIY backdrop. Gold flatware popped against textured pink table linens, while mismatched china and various painted birdcages lent a whimsical feel to each tablescape.
As a nod to his favorite plant, Eric donned a succulent boutonniere paired with a garden-inspired tie and pocket square. Centerpieces included bunches of dusty miller and roses arranged wood vessels hand stenciled by the bride. “We even included artichoke, which sounds crazy, but it was stunning,” Jessica says.
