Sarah Bot (30, a yoga instructor) and Blake Foster (29, in finance) met through mutual friends, and three years later, were a newly engaged couple living in Newport Beach, California. The couple wanted to have a themed wedding based off Alice in Wonderland at the McCharles House in Tustin, California surrounded by a beautiful outdoor garden, making their vision of a fairytale wedding come to life throughout the elegant space. The venue was decorated in vintage dishes, teacup sets and antique d?cor with a color palette of light pink and powder blue, complimenting the enchanted atmosphere the couple had been aiming for. The pastel blue and pink accents were also integrated into Sarah and Blake’s wedding day fashions, bringing the theme of Alice in Wonderland more to life than ever before by incorporating the bride and groom into it directly. Sarah picked an elegant powder blue wedding dress designed by Lazaro that was purchased from Mon Amie Bridal Shop, and Blake complimented the bride’s pastel look with a pink suit jacket combined with power blue pants. Brunch was served at the afternoon occasion, complete with organic blended teas, apple cider cocktails mixed with Fireball and a donut bar filled with sweets and treats, in addition to the whimsical floating cake by Sweet Traders bakery.

For wedding invitations, ivory and blue paper was placed on top of designed wood planks and was tied with blue ribbon at the top.

“I chose spring pastels focusing on a light pink and powder blue,” says Sarah. “We combined these colors with eclectic furniture, including a variety of amazing vintage dishes, tea cups and table decor to blend the spring colors together.”
An old wooden door with a wired screen was used to pin escort cards up for guests to find their seating arrangements. There was a black chalkboard on the bottom part of the door that read “Find Your Seat”.
