A Whimsical, Garden Wedding at Toledo Country Club in Toledo, Ohio
Garden-inspired details and an abundance of blooms lent a Secret Garden feel to Crystal Phelps (28 and an artist) and Tim Walsh’s (29 and a project manager) alfresco affair.
In lieu of a traditional seating setup, Crystal and Tim exchanged vows in the center of a circular chair formation surrounded by family and friends. “I didn’t want to wait to walk down the aisle alone,” Crystal says. “I wanted our ceremony to represent the two of us coming together.”
Crystal made 1,000 colorful origami cranes to signify happiness and good luck.
Bridesmaids toted rose-filled arrangements tied with textured ribbons, while groomsmen sported boutonnieres made of fragrant juniper berries. When it came time to cut the cake, the newlyweds dug into an almond pound cake topped with powdered sugar and fresh berries and blooms.
Situated along the Maumee River, the venue offered a plethora of scenic photo ops.
